In 1967, Atlantic Equipment & Supply Company began operations in Gainesville, Virginia providing drill tools and supplies to the foundation drilling and construction industry. Atlantic built augers and tools in a three man, 8,000 square foot shop, and sold cable, chain, rubber boots and other contractor supplies.

Over the years, Atlantic Equipment & Supply has evolved into a company that has concentrated on providing the foundation drilling contractor with the finest quality equipment and service. To reflect this change Atlantic Equipment & Supply Company adopted the name change to Atlantic Equipment Company, Inc. Atlantic developed the first plumb-bob rock auger and continues building innovative tools as well as special order equipment to the customer’s specifications.

In 1985, Atlantic expanded into the manufacture of drill rigs, by purchasing the digger line from Hughes Micon, a division of Hughes Tool Company. Atlantic started building the LDH and LLDH models originally designed by Hugh B. Williams and later developed by Hughes Micon. The newer model Drill Sergeant and the lighter duty EZ Hydra Diggers are also manufactured at Atlantic Equipment Company.

In early 2002, Atlantic moved into a 60,000 square foot facility in Woodstock, Virginia with the same intent as always, to supply customers with the best possible products and service. This new state of the art facility allowed Atlantic to expand their line of drilling related equipment and tooling that they offer to the industry. Along with the auger tooling and truck mounted drills that they have traditionally built, Atlantic now offers a variety of track mounted, all-hydraulic drills, grout plants and other drilling equipment.

The new plant is located 2 hours west of Washington, DC, in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. Atlantic’s customers are always welcome to visit when they are in the area. They can see first-hand the facility and more importantly the people that make Atlantic Equipment Company a place that employees are proud to work. Atlantic is a growing company that continues to build its history in the industry, and is looking forward to an even brighter future.
